About IAC Canada

International Academic Competitions, which was founded in the USA in 2010, organizes over a dozen separate academic competitions in over 60 countries, and is deeply committed to the growth and development of academic competitions. The Canadian division of IAC was founded in 2014.

At this time, IAC organizes three different competitions in Canada: the International History Bee, the International Geography Bee, and the International History Bowl. All three competitions feature a buzzer system (as on certain quiz shows) and comprehensive, paragraph-length questions that emphasize critical thinking and long-term knowledge of important topics on all aspects of history and geography. This approach encourages students to explore and study on their own, and also provides for fast-paced, and enjoyable competitions. At our Canadian tournaments, approximately 15% of the questions will focus on the history, geography and culture of Canada.
